A range of "high security" products

As a French manufacturer of RFID hardware, STid has demonstrated leadership in the high security field by developing integrated security solutions. STid readers maintain a high level of security not only between the reader and badge, but also provide data security between the reader and the controller it is connected to.

 

This new generation of readers supports the latest Mifare® contactless technologies and their new data protection and security features. They use all the new and possible security algorithms of these chips : Crypto1, DES, TDES, AES… Users can load their private security keys into the reader through a configuration card for complete confidentiality and independence.

These readers provide data confidentiality between the reader and the controller, with the secure communication protocol SSCP. This protocol offers data encryption (AES) and mutual authentication (HMAC-SHA-1) prior to any communication.

 

Compatible with e-passports

A biometric passport (or e-passport) is a combined paper and electronic passport that contains biometric information that can be used to authenticate the identity of travelers. It uses contactless smart card technology, including a tag. The passport's critical information is both printed on the data page of the passport and stored in the tag. Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is used to authenticate the data stored electronically in the passport chip making it virtually impossible to forge when all security mechanisms are fully and correctly implemented.

 

STid has designed a range of readers compatible with the chip of these passports. These readers can read the UID of the chip - "Random UID".
